Hypnotizing the Audience

The process of hypnotizing is not an easy task and takes a lot of patience and hard work to hypnotize a person.

The term ‘Hypnotize’ is derived from a Greek word ‘Hypnos’ which means ‘sleep’. It is a state of mind, which resembles a state of sleep but is induced by a person who knows the art of hypnotizing. The person who has been hypnotized accepts all the instructions given by the hypnotizer.

This technique of hypnotization is used by the medical practitioners to relieve anxiety or to alter the behavior of a patient. It is also a popular technique amongst magicians and stage performers for entertaining the audience.

Hypnotizing a person or the audience is not an easy task, as it requires a high concentration level. If you have the capability to concentrate then you are one step closer to successfully hypnotize the audience by putting the following methods to use:

1) Use the handshake induction method – This one is a hit and trial type of method in which you hardly have few minutes to lure your subject. You just handshake with the person who is going to be hypnotized and proceed further. It is very crucial to make sure that the individual has slipped into an unreal state completely; it is only after this he would be able to receive any commands from the hypnotizer.

2) Use of language, intonation and key words helps in hypnotizing someone within a few minutes. This method is highly effective in both the cases, for individuals as well as mass hypnotism. Loud sounds, use of high pitch and big hand gestures should be avoided by the hypnotizer. He should be authoritative and confident.

3) Use of soft facial expressions rather than loud hand movements. Use of wild movements by the hypnotizer breaks the concentration of the audience and it would be difficult to bring the audience back in the trance state of mind. Minimal use of hand gestures should be made and the audience should be maneuvered to keep their eyes on the hypnotizer’s face.

4) ‘Ericksonian hypnosis’ is a very popular hypnotism technique. According to this technique, use of positive and encouraging words can change the way you think and act. The hypnotizer makes use of certain positive words to hypnotize an individual or a large number of audiences.

5) You can use post-hypnotic suggestions. It implies the use of specific words or actions after each session of hypnotism. This would act as an indicator and give you desired result.

6) To add more instant effects to the hypnotizing techniques one can use subliminal video and audio tools. These would give desired results without putting too much personal efforts.

Now the question arises, does hypnosis work? Various medical researches show that there are a large number of factors, varying from good imagination to ability to relax and trust.

According to these researches, a person who has a tense mind, lack of imagination and fearful nature usually doesn’t respond well to hypnotism. But, there isn’t a clear cut criteria that can define who would respond to hypnotism and who would not. It entirely depends on the state of mind of an individual.

People who are interested to know how they can hypnotize the audiences can take online help. There are various websites that provide complete information on this subject.
