How Can The Study Of Amino Acids Help The Humanity

More than 750 amino acids have been found in Nature. Bacteria, fungi and algae and some plants produce nearly all these, which exist either in the free form or connected to larger molecules (as constituents of peptides and proteins and some types of amide, and of alkylated and esterified structures). The twenty amino acids which are used in living cells for protein synthesis under the control of genes are in a unique category since they are fundamental to all life forms as building blocks for peptides and proteins.

In chemistry, an amino acid is a molecule containing both amine and carboxyl functional classes. The basic forms of subsistence of amino acids are D or L (dextro and levo). Scientists separate all the amino acids excepting glyceine as the matters mirror reflections and all they can not be superimposed.

The researches demonstrate that L-type is significantly more often met. During the experiments it was clarified that L-type amino acids can be the ingredients of eukaryotic proteins and D-amino acids are just he parts of cell walls in proteins.

The chemists defined all the amino acids divided onto two groups: essential and nonessential amino acids. Essential amino acids are also called indispensable as they can not be recovered by the body. The other amino acid - histidine is considered semi-essential because the organism does not permanently require dietary sources of it.

Nonessential amino acids may be produced as a consequence of usual proteins breakdown or simply be developed from essential acids.

The names of essential and nonessential groups do not imply the significance of these amino acids as 20 amino acids form such groups are utilized by the organism. Alpha-amino acids are the building parts of proteins. Amino acids get together in a condensation reaction, that is, through dehydration synthesis, it releases liquid and the new "amino acid residue" that is held together by a peptide bond. Proteins are predefined by their unique sequence of amino acid residues; this sequence is the primary structure of the protein. That is hard to understand, but the precise number of all the possible combinations created of amino acids can not be estimated. Scientists can’t determine whether some of them can subsist or not.

There are lots of functions performed by amino acids inside the body. They assist to control hormonal activities and execute lots of other functions.

The physiological importance of alpha amino acids guarantees a sustained interest in their chemistry - particularly in pharmaceutical exploration for new medications, and for their synthesis, actions and physical properties. A lot of persons don’t understand the significance of the researches which try to reveal more information about all the classes and compositions of amino acids but it may impact considerably the improvement of modern genetic engineering methods.
