Air Jordans – The Legacy

By: Harry Peter

Everyone agrees that Nike Air Jordan is a classic piece of art. Coupled with that, two entirely different concepts of “sneakers” and “upscale” within Air Jordans family is driving the prices northwards. If you wonder this is all, the ever changing complexion of sneaker market is also contributing its bit in a significant way. Nevertheless, they are the most athletic shoes to have ever been manufactured by Nike.

Believe me; the hyper demand for Nike Air Jordan is also due to the demand from collectors around the world besides the promise of performance and style. Perhaps this is why everyone agrees that they are more than just ordinary sneakers. To put it simple, Nike Air Jordan is by far the most celebrated basketball shoes.

Apparently, demand breeds scandalous people and you should be all eyes before you buy a pair of Nike Air Jordan. Briefly, your best line of defense against fake Air Jordans is to compare your choice with a model guide available at Nike shoe stores; check for colorways; remember shoes with sponge bob prints are fakes. Often gullible people forget to check the boxes, labels etc in their excitement while some may just go by the words of the sellers. When Nike launched Air Jordan x Air Force 1 Fusion, it hit two birds with one stone. While fusing the USPs of both the sneakers helped Nike hit the bulls eye, it greatly eased out the hyper demand that existed for Air Jordans too. Nevertheless, Air Jordan x Air Force 1 Fusion sure is a beauty in itself.

Why Nike Air Jordan Series Is Highly Pricey
Nike pays Michael Jordan $20 million royalty to endorse Air Jordans and sneakers from its family. Designers work in consultation with Jordan which in turn influences his personal life most likely inspiring to fine tune designs. In addition, sneaker collectors and the extraordinary demand make the sneakers pricey to a level capable of setting back your bank balance more than most other sneakers. Also it is hard to discount the market dynamics which keep constantly changing.

When first launched in 1985 Air Jordans cost only $65, a laughable amount in contrast with the more recent Nike Air Jordan priced at $180. Till date, the most expensive Nike Air Jordan shoes were the 17s which command a suggested price of $200.

It would be naïve to list out top shoe brands without Air Jordans for all that they boast off; the cutting edge technology and styling; comfort and durability as opposed to any competing brand.

Nike Air Jordan has come to be a must have for all walks of people. In my opinion, there isn’t a single living person in this last two decades to not know anything about the legacy the brand created. Regardless of cultural backgrounds or race Nike Air Jordan has surely left its mark and carved an enviable niche in the market.
