A home business is much different than a day job. In a day job, you get orders from your supervisor, a manager or the head honcho - the boss. Your motivation is your lifestyle. After all, if you lose the job, you lose out on the money, which in turn removes that loving lifestyle that you been living.

In a home business, this is totally different. In fact in any business this just is not the way to work. Whereas when you work for someone, they can say I need this, and you take 2 days to complete it. In a home business, you need to do it now!

If you cant commit to follow through, this is a habit which can prove disastrous in a home business. Luckily we all have to grow in business, and you just may be able to achieve a positive action orientated habit.

* #2 Leave Your Day Job
It can seem easy to think that the work from home business we get into will be a success. I did. I left my job, and started my own home business. It grew, and then soon died. I was left with no money, and a big challenge. Luckily I managed to create successful businesses even with that hardship.

My suggestion is to stay in your day job till at least you see a few months of success in business. It is one of those things that can mean the difference of putting dinner on the table or not.

* #3 Do More Today To Have More Tomorrow
Going the extra mile is one key point that shows someone who is going somewhere. As an entrepreneur with a home business, you will need to do more today to have more tomorrow. This takes time.

* #4 If You Love TV
Your level of will power and self control are important things to every entrepreneur and high achiever. The TV is something I often term the as a $40,000 a year cost rather than benefit.

Am I knocking TV? Yes, likely but it is for good reason. Often a home business owner will find failure because the TV gets in the way. Another is the claustrophobic aspect of working at home. Some people just cant do it.

* #5 Home Business = Easy Street
Some people will have the quirk of feeling the freedom of a home business too soon. It is easy to believe falsely in the beginning that you can take it easy. I often say take it easy. But, in business especially the first few years, you will need to give it your all.

Consider these points strongly. They are some of the major reasons people fail in a home business. A home business needs professionalism, commitment and dedication.
